Sorano: the workshop becomes art: the works of Margherita Levittoux on display at the Ildebrando Bar Enoteca SORANO – Friday October 10, at 6 pm, at Ildebrando Bar Enoteca in Sorano a small but original exhibition by the artist Margherita Levittoux will be inaugurated, presenting ten works including oil paintings, drawings and linocuts inspired by a place that is both everyday and unexpected: a mechanical workshop. The inspiration actually comes from the historic office of San Quirico di Sorano of Mr. Osvaldo Berna.
it is visiting as a simple client that the Levittoux found the impulse for this series of works depicting scenes of real life: tools, gears, walls full of objects and flags, a mess only apparent that – under the artist’s eye – turns into a harmonious and almost comic book composition. “It is the organic and chaotic multitude of the workshop that fascinated me – explains the artist – every screw, every wrench, every sign of use tells a story of work and humanity. It’s a world of details, full of rhythm and poetry”.
Levittoux, born in Warsaw and daughter of art – her mother was a prominent artist in the European landscape – studied painting between Warsaw, London and France, maturing a personal language that combines realism, irony and an almost cinematic narrative taste. For about twenty years, she has lived in Italy, in the province of Viterbo between Acquapendente and Grotte di Castro, where she continues to paint. She chose Sorano and the Ildebrando Bar Enoteca for this exhibition because of the welcoming atmosphere and creativity that the place is building thanks to its young owner, Julia França, Brazilian origin but now an active part of the local cultural life. "Julia - tells the artist - immediately conveyed to me enthusiasm and desire to share art in a simple and direct way, between a glass of wine and a conversation".
The exhibition will remain open throughout October during the opening hours of the venue.

Sorano l’officina diventa arte: le opere di Margherita Levittoux in mostra all’Ildebrando Bar Enoteca
SORANO – Venerdì 10 ottobre, alle ore 18, all’Ildebrando Bar Enoteca di Sorano sarà inaugurata una piccola ma originale mostra dell’artista Margherita Levittoux, che presenta dieci lavori tra dipinti ad olio, disegni e xilografie ispirati a un luogo tanto quotidiano quanto inaspettato: un’officina meccanica.
L’ispirazione nasce infatti dalla storica officina di San Quirico di Sorano del signor Osvaldo Berna.
È frequentandola da semplice cliente che la Levittoux ha trovato lo spunto per questa serie di opere che ritraggono scene di vita reale: strumenti, ingranaggi, pareti colme di oggetti e bandiere, un disordine solo apparente che – sotto lo sguardo dell’artista – si trasforma in una composizione armoniosa e quasi fumettistica.
“È proprio la moltitudine organica e caotica dell’officina ad avermi affascinata – spiega l’artista –: ogni vite, ogni chiave inglese, ogni segno d’uso racconta una storia di lavoro e di umanità. È un mondo di dettagli, pieno di ritmo e poesia”.
La Levittoux, nata a Varsavia e figlia d’arte – la madre è stata una pittrice di rilievo nel panorama europeo – ha studiato pittura tra Londra e la Francia, maturando un linguaggio personale che unisce realismo, ironia e un gusto narrativo quasi cinematografico. Da circa vent’anni vive in Italia, in provincia di Viterbo tra Acquapendente e Grotte di Castro, dove continua a dipingere.
Ha scelto Sorano e l’Ildebrando Bar Enoteca per questa esposizione proprio per il clima di accoglienza e creatività che il locale sta sapendo costruire grazie alla sua giovane proprietaria, Julia França, brasiliana d’origine ma ormai parte attiva della vita culturale locale. “Julia – racconta l’artista – mi ha subito trasmesso entusiasmo e voglia di condividere arte in modo semplice e diretto, tra un bicchiere di vino e una conversazione”.
La mostra resterà visitabile per tutto il mese di ottobre durante gli orari di apertura del locale.
